The project proposes a digital and spatial transformation of the Galata Museo del Mare through the design of an alternative narrative pathway dedicated to the theme of piracy. Conceived as a parallel itinerary for families, schools, and younger audiences, the installation explores the world of pirates not as a space of disorder, but as a society governed by its own moral and social rules — the so-called Codice dei Pirati drafted by Bartholomew Roberts in 1722. The exhibition unfolds across a series of immersive and interactive rooms, integrating augmented soundscapes, projections, and sensor-based systems that transform the museum architecture itself into an interpretive device. Visitors are invited to move through a multi-sensory and multi-layered experience, where learning occurs through play, interaction, and participation — from decoding historical narratives to signing the pirate’s code in an engaging final rite of passage.
