This lecture explores the critical journey and evolution of Calibro Zero, a multidisciplinary design studio characterized by its commitment to transgressing conventional disciplinary boundaries. Drawing from a decade of professional and theoretical experimentation, Francesco Carota reflects upon the complex relationship between design praxis, entrepreneurial ambition, and the ideological tensions inherent in contemporary architecture practice. Through a genealogical perspective, this presentation reveals how the deliberate “unmaking” of Calibro Zero serves as an intellectual and methodological critique of disciplinary dogma, highlighting the agency of disruption, failure, and transformation in reshaping design practices. Ultimately, the lecture argues for a renewed praxis that embraces instability and reflexivity as central tenets for innovation and intellectual freedom in architecture and design.
