This lecture, delivered at the Politecnico di Torino, explored the intersection between representation and design as complementary modes of inquiry and production. Through selected projects by Calibro Zero, the discussion examined how drawing, modeling, and visualization operate not merely as tools of depiction but as critical instruments shaping the design process itself. The lecture reflected on how representational strategies can articulate relationships between concept and material, narrative and construction, local conditions and global imaginaries. By tracing the evolution of Calibro Zero’s work across different contexts, it emphasized representation as an active field of design agency—a space where ideas are negotiated, meanings constructed, and architecture understood as both image and process.
